Facing each other across Geyserville Avenue are the charming Queen Anne Craftsman style Hope-Bosworth House and the strikingly restored Eastlake Style Victorian Hope-Merrill House. This pair of charming reminders of Geyserville's early days was purchased in 1980 by Bob and Rosalie Hope, and lovingly brought back to their former elegance to be shared with visitors as delightful Bed and Breakfast Inns. Even the wallpapers and trim have been duplicated as exquisite examples of the period.

The Hope-Merrill, which Rosalie's research shows to have been the early Stage Coach Stop for the area is no musty museum piece. Comfort and cordiality come unstintingly before gilded wallpaper and fragile glassware.

The two homes are inviting, and the little extra touches of hospitality are unmatched. A glass of wine on the porch or in the parlor, brings the day to a quiet end. In the morning, the sounds and scents of a home-cooked country breakfast, make awakening a special pleasure.

The Inns are located in Geyserville, a small town in the fertile Alexander Valley, where the traveler will enjoy some of the most spectacular views of the wine country in California. Nothing is more beautiful than the vineyard scene, and the vineyards of the north coast of Sonoma County are some of the most magnificent in the world. The Inns offer a grand view of Geyser Peak, the worlds largest geothermal field, and the steam clouds rising from the Geysers are prominent above the surrounding hill area.

Guests enjoy the rural atmosphere and wine buffs can take advantage of the wine tasting at small wineries located along the back roads of the Russian River Wine Trail. Other diversions await the guests -- the river, the redwoods, Lake Sonoma and Warm Springs Dam are just a few miles away.

At 9:00 AM, a Country Breakfast is served in the formal dining room and includes juice, fresh fruit, egg dishes, homemade breads and pastries, jams, and jellies, coffee, or tea.
