The Orchard of Bill & Vicky Thomas is located six miles south of Zanesville, OH, on State Route #555 directly behind Stovertown. The Orchard was planted in the 1930's by Dalton Swingle. As a young boy, Bill helped Mr. Swingl e harvest his produce. Mr. Swingle maintained ownership of the orchard until Bill and Vicky purchased it in 1972. The original orchard consisted of old standard apple and peach tress. Upon purchasing the orchard, Bill and Vicky started to upgrade by replacing old trees with semi-dwarf trees, allowing them to plant many more tress on the same acerage. After about 13 years of no peach crops and the fact that they were being advised to disersify (Don\'t put all your apples in one basket) t hey planted one acre of seedless table grapes in 1986. This was an experimental planting in coopera tion with The Ohio State University, Wooster Campus. OSU supplied the plants and they supplied them with five years of research. Today The Orchard consists of 26 different varieties of apples, approximately 400 trees, peaches, seedless table grapes, plums, blueberris, raspberries and blackberries. Our harvest season is June and July-blueberries July and August- peaches July to October- Apples August and September-Grapes, plums raspberries and blackberries. Fresh cider is available at The Orchard from the middle of September until Chirstmas most years. Our marketing is mostly retail at the local Zanesville Farmers\'Market at the Muskingum County Fa ir grounds and the North Market, downtown Columbus each Saturday from July through Christmas.

Hot tub, fireplace, gas grill on the patio, large porch overlooking our pond, orchard and vineyard, CD player, TV/VCR DVD, soaker tub, oversized shower and central air conditioning. Breakfast food will be provided for you to cook as you wish, but please bring your own food to prepare lunch and dinner either in the spacious kitchen or outside on the gas grill.
