Goodwin House Bed and Breakfast, located in historic Burton Village, Ohio, offers intimate and comfortable accommodations in a landmark home, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Much of this 1828 home is in original condition, including fine woodwork trim and wood floors, as well as original foundation and mortise and tenon joinery. Two large guest rooms, each with private “en-suite bath” provide a luxurious weekend getaway, or comfortable favorite stop for business travel. The home was built for Dr. Erastus Goodwin, who was the region’s physician for decades. See our tab on “About Goodwin House” for more about the history of the building and special furnishings.

Geauga County is celebrating its bicentennial this year. Geauga County’s first settlement was in Burton in 1798. Geauga County was created on December 31, 1805, and the first meeting of County Commissioners took place on March 6, 1806 in Burton. Geauga County will celebrate its bicentennial throughout 2006 with special events.

The local and regional area offers much for families, couples, and individuals to do. Burton Village is an antique-shopper’s destination, with many more antique shops within 15 miles in any direction. Festivals and fairs include the Apple Butter Festival, Maple Syrup Festival, Great Geauga County Fair, Pancake Town, Burton’s Antique and Classic Car Shows, and Christmas and other Holiday events.
