Lovely Historical 1881 Italianate Home in Amish country.
In 1993,the Sigrist family purchased and restored the Stauffer Family Farmhouse, which was built in 1881. With the help of an amish construction crew, The walnut staircase, four panel doors with ornamental hinges, and some hardwood floors survived the years, and were restored to their initial beauty.

The home was given a new lease on life when it was rennovated including modern plumbing, air conditioning and bathrooms in each bedroom. The house was originally built in 1881 by the George Stauffer family. Constructed of sun-baked brick, hardwood beams, and sandstone foundation, it was able to stand the test of time.

The family owned a 108-acre farm, selling mainly eggs and fruits from their orchard for a living. The Stauffers raised 2 children. Original features that were retained include the walnut staircase, pine four-panel doors (some 8-feet tall).There is a hot tub for two located in a cozy cabin next to the house, and a wrap around deck overlooking beautiful gardens.The home is decorated in antiques from the period. It also has a gift shop and tea room, with formal teas served Wed. and Sat by appointment.
Ronnie and Linda Stroup, owner/innkeepers since July 1, 2007 welcomes you to Olde World Bed and Breakfast. Ronnie a native of the area, and his wife Linda, a native of California, who always dreamed of owning a bed and breakfast, will serve you a gourmet breakfast, and homemade chocolate cookies in the evenings. Come and relax in one of the themed rooms. The gardens that can be enjoyed from early spring to the end of fall. We have a pond with a waterfall, and a swing where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. We also offer a packaged wine tour to 5 of the local Ohio wineries every month. Tour the fall foliage in October.
