Rockport is a small seaport one hour north of Boston. Most famous as an art colony, the town was a major granite shipper until the depression closed the quarries. Today, vacationers sunbathe on the rocks and beaches, take walks through the woods or along the shore, or watch the whales from boats out of Rockport or Gloucester. The Rockport Golf Club has a nine hole course 1/2 mile from the Captain’s House. You can find many other things to do in Rockport and Cape Ann under Events and Attractions above.

The Captain’s House Inn, Rockport is open this year from mid-March to early November. We are a traditional New England Country Inn and all of our rooms have an ocean view. Breakfast is served on the sun porch with spectacular views of the sea. Our rates include a continental breakfast. We are easy to reach by car and Rockport also has a good rail service from North Station in Boston. The Captain’s House Inn has wireless broadband internet access. Children are welcome. Smoking is limited to the outside porch and to the grounds. We are sorry; we do not admit guests' pets.

Room 1 has a main bedroom with a queen-sized bed, private sun porch with single bed and private bath. Sea views are to the North and East over Straitsmouth Island and to the South to Thacher Island.

Room 2 features a Pennsylvania House 4 poster bed and private period bathroom with clawfoot tub and hand-held shower immediately next door in the hall. The room directly overlooks the ocean to the east and north, including a clear view of Straitsmouth Island and lighthouse.

Room 3 has a queen-sized bed with private bath and overlooks Thacher Island to the South.

Room 4 has a double bed with private bath and looks out to Thacher Island to the South.

Room 5 has changed since last year and now has a double bed and a single day bed. The private bath with clawfoot tub and hand-held shower is a few steps down the hallway. The windows face Straitsmouth Island to the North.
