This is the only Bed & Breakfast in Roanoke Rapids. It is located in the historical district and three blocks from the Roanoke River. This is a small B&B and has two differently themed rooms. Twin Magnolias was originally built as a Mill House at the turn of the century. The first addition was in 1918, then in 1930 and again, in the early 50's. The home came into the 90's when Joan & her daughter took possession. An airy and bright effect was given to the old house when walls were pushed back, and different entrances into rooms were added. Spongue painting and stenciling on the walls and woodwork bring color and charm into this home. Handmade ceramics, collectables and photographs of European travels grace the walls and tables.
Relax with a cool drink or coffee on the spacious front porch. The B&B is on a corner of the 3/4 acre, located in the Historical District of downtown Roanoke Rapids. Behind the B&B is the library and park. The main street, Roanoke Avenue, runs parallel and is only a few blocks from gift shops and the Roanoke River. The Twin Magnolias is ideal for business people, especially women traveling alone.
