Experience history, scenery, tranquility, and wonder at the Isaac Merrill House, one of New Hampshire's unique inns. The Isaac E. Merrill House Inn is over 230-years old and located just over a mile from the quaint village of Conway. Built in 1773, the inn was originally a farm house for local resident Isaac Merrill and his family. Over the years, Isaac allowed artists from Boston to stay at his house in exchange for help on the farm. By 1850, the Merrill family had sold the house to the Russell family, who proceeded to use home as a full-time inn. By the turn of the century, the Russell's had erected four more buildings. During that period, this grouping of resort buildings was collectively known as the "Village of Inns," lodging up to 200 people at a time.
