The original structure of the Lakeshore Inn was built in 1767 by Rockland's first settlers, the Tolman family. It is reported to be one of the first buildings constructed in the town and has undergone several cycles of additions and renovations. The latest cycle is the current one which resulted in the thoughtful renovation of this old New England farmhouse into the Lakeshore Inn for the 1994 season.
