Relax and let the world go by. A christian b & b on 20 acres of rolling hills. Come enjoy swinging on the front porch, walking down country roads, playing cards on the deck, rest on the sandy beach by the pond. End the day by relaxing in our jacuzzi. Beautiful sunsets are awaiting you. The land in this area was inhabited by the houron-potawatomies indians in the early 1800's and prior and was the last indians to leave the area in 1840. Their last incampment was at the corner of squawfield and walden roads which is 3.5 miles west of our home. There is a monument to chief baw-bees and his tribe there. Burt road was part of an indian trail that passed by our home.
As for us, we came from the detroit area in oct of 2002. We were looking for not only land but it had been my dream to have a bed and breakfast for over 12 years. We felt this house had good assets and the land to have beautiful views from our windows. For the next three years we worked on our house putting in walls, closets doors,new stairway,new bathroom, 8 new windows, repairing of porch,adding garage doors, putting in stairails, building around the jacuzzi, decorating, wallpapering and painting everthing in sight. My husband and I were novices but we learned much. It has been worth it to live in our community and be so near 2 other states.

This house was orginally built by the brittons some time between 1885-95. The house has had two additions added. One between 1900-15 and one in 1978. The dining room and part of the living room are the original sections of the house. The brittons ran a very sucesssful dairy farm and was well known in the area. The sign on the side or our barn says "brittons gray gables" and we plan to keep it because it is a marker well known in the area.
