A Victorian Italianate style ”Mother-Daughter” twin home was built in 1883 as a seaside vacation home for the Page family and it has ever since been playing host to family, friends and vacationers of the day. Bedford Inn is well located, a very short block to the beach and near many fine restaurants and shops. Limited driveway on-site parking is available.

Plan a relaxed vacation with us in our unique Victorian town by the sea, a National Historic Landmark City. Start off your day with a memorable breakfast - shared with other guests in our dining room or from a tray on one of our porches, enjoying the fresh air. Then head for the beach and its pleasures or join a guided tour of our beautiful Historic District. Poke around town by yourselves, admiring Cape May’s famed Victorian architecture with its exuberant gingerbread trim. Check out our many unique shops or indulge in a coffee break on our “Victorian Mall” and leisurely watch the world go by.

Relax and enjoy the quiet of our authentic Victorian guest rooms or perhaps a “honeymoon” suite for a special getaway. All guest rooms and suites are furnished with authentic Victorian antiques and all have a private bath in the room, each with a shower and some with an old-fashioned clawfoot tub. All have their own air conditioners in hot weather. Each room is beautifully decorated with period antiques but has touches of the new century with tv, vcr and hair dryers. Rooms offer a queen bed and two suites offer a king.

Enjoy the cozy parlor fireplace or choose a book from our bookcases. Grab a rocking chair and laze away on one of our large, airy verandas. Come down to tea in the afternoon and chat with other guests – sharing your impressions of Cape May with its lovely beach, its beautiful collection of Victorian buildings, its wonderful restaurants, cafes, shops and tours.

Other Amenities ...

Breakfast is served buffet-style in our Dining Room between the hours of 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. Early-bird coffee is ready shortly after 8 a.m. Guests are welcome to join others at the family-style dining room table or take a tray to either the parlor or sunporch.

For all reservations that include a Saturday night, we ask for at least a two-night stay. However, in August, weekends require a minimum stay of three nights. Holiday weekends also require a minimum stay of three nights.
In August we generally ask for a three-night midweek stay. We sometimes have shorter stays available between other reservations, so it is always a good idea to check with us. If we don't have the dates you are requesting, we will be happy to put you on our "Wait List" or you may check availability at our sister inn, the Linda Lee.

Our inn is smoke-free. All rooms and suites are non-smoking rooms.

A deposit of 50% of the total, including sales tax, is required to secure a reservation. However, a one-night stay must be fully paid in advance.

Accommodations are not suitable for children.

Cancellation Policy - As a small inn we require commitment to reservations. In the event you must cancel your reservation, shorten your stay or change your dates, your deposit will be returned (less a $25 cancellation fee per room) only if we receive notice a full fifteen days in advance of your arrival date.

Any such change within the fifteen days prior to your arrival date will result in a refund only if we are able to refill your entire booking. No refund can be made within the last 48 hours prior to 2 p.m. on the date of arrival. We cannot be responsible for illness, family emergencies, early departures, work conflicts or inclement weather.
